Helen D. Rinehart

Helen was born, July 1, 1907, in Centerville, KS. to John C. and Clara Crosby Dexter. She graduated from Parker High School, in 1926. In 1930, Helen, graduated from Baker University, in Baldwin City, with a bachelor of Music Degree. After graduation, she taught music, and art, in the Overland Park grade and junior high schools. On Sept 1, 1935, she was united in marriage, to Oliver D. Rinehart, a Paola attorney. To this union a daughter was born, named Joan. Helen traveled extensively, a number of trips with her daughter. Their travels included most European countries, Russia, Middle East, Africa, and Hawaii. She especially enjoyed cruising throughout the Caribbean islands, as well as the Mediterranean Sea and Norwegian fjords. While living in her home, she enjoyed entertaining her friends, and was still an avid reader. Helen moved to Vintage Park, in Paola, in December of 2000, and in June of 2009, she moved to Golden Heights Living Center, in Garnett, KS. Helen did volunteer work, for the State Hospital, and Paola Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority, 1st United Presbyterian Church, and the Paola Country Club. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Oliver, and 2 brothers, Dale and Willard Dexter. Surviving Helen, is her daughter Joan, and husband, Dan Patino, of Paola.
