Hazel Irene Billups, age75, of Louisburg, KS, passed away May 1, 2010, at the Olathe Medical Center. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at the Penwell - Gabel Louisburg Chapel. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the chapel. Burial will be in the Louisburg Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Louisburg First Christian Church. Hazel was born November 2, 1934, in Marceline, MO, to George and Cleo Curry Fox. She attended and graduated from Marceline High School in 1952. On December 22, 1956, she was united in marriage to Bobbie L. Billups in Marceline, MO. They moved to Louisburg in 1962, where she was a homemaker and belonged to the First Christian Church. She was a choir member and Sunday school pianist for several years. She also sang and played for many funerals throughout her life. Hazel"s hobbies were playing music, quilting, camping, gardening, and being outdoors with her children and grandchildren. She was preceded her in death by her parents; husband; brother, John Fox; brother, Hubert Fox; and sister, Neva Ruth Sportsman. Survivors include her son, Glen Billups and wife Carolyn, Louisburg, KS; daughter, Susan Billups, Olathe, KS; 2 grandchildren, Michelle Rogers and husband Patrick, Kearney, MO, and Chris Brunson of Austin, TX.
