Harvey E. J.R. Wilson, age 62, of Pomona, Kansas, died Tuesday, November 16, 2010. He was born on Saturday, September 11, 1948, in Garnett, Kansas, the son of Harvey E. Wilson, Sr. and Mary Margaret (Welborn) Wilson. A lifelong Kansas resident, Harvey grew up in Garnett and lived in Ottawa, moving to Pomona in 1995. He was an electrician. J.R. served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War attaining the rank of E-4. He also received the National Defense Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was a member of Electrical Workers Local 119 for twenty years. SERVICES: Memorial Funeral Services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2010. IN STATE: Cremation is planned.
