Harry Morton Harry attended Spring Creek country school. He was a lifelong farmer/stockman. He was also employed by Williams Gas Service as an engineer in 1951, retiring in 1979. He was a member of Hesston United Methodist Church. Harry was an outdoor person who stayed active caring for the family farm, fishing, and gardening. He also enjoyed playing pool and cards with his family and friends, and spending time with them. On June 14, 1940, Harry was united in marriage with Ruby Gibson at Baldwin City, Kansas. She survives of their home. Also, surviving are two sons, Larry J. Wood and his wife, Jean Ann, of Ottawa, Tommy M. Wood and his wife, Terry, of Ottawa; two brothers, Ballard Wood of Ottawa, James Wood of Racine, Wisconsin; grandson, Tommy L. Wood of Ottawa; and granddaughter, Kelly M. Wood of Ottawa. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Cleo Wood; and sister, Florence Zielsdorf. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, June 3, 2001, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dengel & Son Mortuary at 235 S. Hickory St., Ottawa, KS. Services will be held Monday, June 4, 2001, at 10:00 AM at Walnut Creek Cemetery at 235 S. Hickory St., Ottawa, KS. Bruce Beatty will be officiating.
