Harold W. Powers, 84, of Olathe, Kansas, formerly of Ottawa, passed away Monday, October 29, 2018, at Pinnacle Ridge Nursing & Rehabilitation. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Harold was born April 25, 1934, in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Edgar Lee and Clara Ellen (Hink) Powers. He lived most of his life in Kansas City, Kansas, moving there from Ottawa where he lived 10 years. In 2016, Harold moved to Olathe. He graduated from Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, Kansas, with the class of 1952. Harold was in field artillery with the Kansas Army National Guard in the early 1970s. Survivors include thirteen nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Mildred Sims, Barbara Kresyman, Edward Powers and Robert Powers. Harold was a taxi cab driver with the Yellow Cab Company, retiring in the mid-1970s. He was involved with the Salvation Army and was also a bell ringer. Harold enjoyed the ladies. He loved watching the KC Royals, fishing and being with his nephews. The family suggests memorial contributions to Salvation Army c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
