Harold F. Brandt Jr.

Harold Fredrick Brandt Jr., age 60, of Manhattan, Kansas died June 4, 2017 at his home. Harold, also known as Buckie, was born December 6, 1956 to Harold, Sr. and Nellie (McCoy) Brandt in Paola, Kansas. He was the second son in a family of 5 boys. Harold was baptized May 10, 1959 at First Lutheran Church of Paola, Kansas. He attended school there through the 8th grade where he was confirmed and graduated May 1971. Harold graduated from Paola High School in 1975. He worked at various construction jobs throughout his career. He graduated from Kansas State University in 2002 with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Animal Science Management Production. Harold fathered three children - Levi, Harold, III, and Sarah Brandt. Harold was most happy when surrounded by his family. He was a jokester and brought laughter to those around him. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Sr., brother Charles “Bus” Brandt, and his grandparents. Survivors include his mother, Nellie Louise Brandt of Paola, Kansas; two sons, Levi (Rebekah) of Clay Center, Kansas and Harold, III of Lawrence, Kansas; one daughter, Sarah of Kansas City, Missouri; six grandchildren, Thomas, Austin, Emma and Allyson of Clay Center and Emery and Emmitt of Lawrence; three brothers, Rusty (Rebecca), Rodney, and Raylin (Tresa) all of Paola, Kansas. A visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., June 17, 2017 at Dengel and Son Mortuary, 305 N. Pearl St., Paola, Kansas. Burial will be at Paola Cemetery following visitation.
