Harold Dean Kimball was born on Monday, October 16, 1922, in Lane, Kansas. He was the son of Charles Ross and Ida (Hendrix) Kimball. Harold was a lifelong rural Princeton, Kansas resident until moving to Ottawa, in Franklin County, Kansas in 1991, where he made his home until his death on Wednesday, January 16, 2008, at the age of eighty-five years. Harold graduated from Lane High School with the class of 1940 and attended Pittsburg State University, where he received a lifelong teacher's certificate. He was a lifelong farmer in Princeton. In 1945 and 1946, he taught and coached at Lane High School. He was also an area District Manager for MoorMan Feeds over thirty years and sold insurance for Patron's Mutual for twenty years. Harold served in the United States Navy from 1942 to 1945, as a pilot and flight instructor. He was a member of Princeton United Methodist Church and Power of the Past of Ottawa. Harold was an outdoorsman who enjoyed all sports including hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed traveling with Betty and greatly enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. On October 2, 1944, Harold was united in marriage with Betty Burkdoll in Miami, Florida. She survives of their home. He is also survived by four daughters, Sandra McCurdy and her husband, Eldon, of Ottawa, Kansas, Linda Rybolt and her husband, Alan, of Warroad, Minnesota, Lorna Jacobson of Bemidji, Minnesota, Jana Cramer and her husband, Kent, of Ozawkie, Kansas; two sons, Denny Kimball and his wife, Debbie, of Princeton, Kansas, Jon Kimball and his wife, Brenda, of West Plains, Missouri; sister, Roberta Trumble of Denver, Colorado; seventeen grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Don Kimball, Bill Kimball; and sister, Annabeth Bryan. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from Dengel & Son Mortuary at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2008. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mr. Kimball at Dengel & Son Mortuary after 1:00 p.m. Sunday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends 7 to 8:00 Monday evening.
