Harold Dean Hinderliter

Harold D. Hinderliter, 58, of Ottawa, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, January 28, 2019, at the First United Methodist Church. Family will meet with friends from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M., Sunday, January 27, 2019, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Interment Highland Cemetery, Ottawa. Harold was born June 9, 1960, in Ottawa, the son of C. Alvin and Beth (Tucker) Hinderliter. He was a lifelong Ottawa resident. He graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1978, later completing his plumbing certification. Harold was united in marriage to Marjorie C. Urton July 31, 1981, in Ottawa. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his mother, Beth Hinderliter of Ottawa; two sons, Chad Hinderliter and wife Erin of Olathe and Joshua Hinderliter of Ottawa; three siblings, Randy Hinderliter and wife Kathy Jo of Ottawa, Wanda Polson and husband Michael of Leavenworth, and Craig Hinderliter and wife Kathy Jean of Ottawa; three granddaughters, RiLynn Hinderliter, Sadee Hinderliter and Lexi Hinderliter; uncle Larry and aunt Lucille Hinderliter of Ottawa and uncle Isaias and aunt Theo Escobedo of Florence, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his father, C. Alvin Hinderliter. Harold was employed at Hoopes Plumbing in Ottawa as a plumber from 1978 to 1980; Wolf Creek Nuclear Plant in Burlington in fireproofing from 1980 to 1984; Ottawa Buildex in production from 1984 to 1986; Steanson Plumbing in Ottawa as a plumber from 1986 to 2002; Lawrence USD 497 in plumbing and maintenance from 2002 to 2007; and Johnson County Community College in plumbing and maintenance from 2007 to present. He was a former member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Town & Country Church of Christ, and the Ottawa Jaycees. Harold was an avid golfer and loved riding and racing off road motorcycles. Above all, he loved his family and spending time with his three granddaughters. The family suggests memorial contributions to Franklin County Cancer Foundation c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
