Harlan F. Miller, age 81, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Wednesday, June 15, 2011. He was born on Thursday, January 23, 1930 in Quenemo, Kansas, the son of Roy A. and Ruth L. (Prewitt) Miller. Harlan was a lifelong Franklin County resident. He graduated from Pomona High School with the class of 1949. Harlan was self-employed as a mechanic, owning and operating Harlan's Car & Truck Repair in Ottawa since 1950. He was a member of Ottawa Lodge #803, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and Aerie Lodge #2700, Fraternal Order of Eagles in Ottawa. On Friday, August 4, 1950, Harlan was united in marriage with Thelma Bunch in Ottawa, Kansas. She survives of their home. Harlan is survived by: Wife-Thelma Miller of the home; Son-Calvin Miller and his wife, Kathy, of Ottawa, Kansas; Daughter-Melissa “Cathy” Miller of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Son-Kenny Miller and his wife, Lisa, of Ottawa, Kansas; Sister-Charlotte Chambers of Baldwin City, Kansas; Brother-Melvin Miller of Pomona, Kansas; Sister-Treva Simmons of Manhattan, Kansas; Sister-in-law-Vada Miller of Pomona, Kansas; Grandchildren(6)- Callie and Billy Browning; Kassy and Eric Moore; Andrew Miller; Addison Miller; Alyssa Miller; Aaron Miller; Gt.Grandchildren(2)-Daniel Moffatt; Hailey Moore and Many Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his: Parents-Roy A. and Ruth L. Miller Brother-Carrol Miller Grandson-Tyler Ray Miller. SERVICES: Mr. Miller has been cremated. Graveside Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at Highland Cemetery in Ottawa. Family will meet with friends from 7:00 to 8:00 Monday evening at Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa. CEMETERY: Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas.
