Gwen A. Todd, 81, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Rock Creek of Ottawa, Ottawa, Kansas.
Memorial services will be held 5:00pm, Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Family will greet friends following the services at the funeral home.
Gwen was born Friday, October 16, 1942, in Ottawa, Kansas, the daughter of Reid and Vivian (Brown) Harder.
She was a life-long Ottawa resident graduating from Ottawa High School with the class of 1960.
Gwen was united in marriage on July 27, 1979, in Ottawa, Kansas, to Jonathan “Jay” Todd. He preceded her in death in 2000. She was previously married to John Gibson and later to David Potter.
She was employed by Southwestern Bell in Ottawa and Kansas City for twenty-five years as a business service representative. She was also the owner of Todd RV’s for several years
Gwen was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Ottawa, an altar guild member, a member of the Ottawa Lodge 803 Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, and a former member of the Ottawa Eastern Star.
She enjoyed mowing the yard, growing flowers, and traveling. Gwen especially loved being with her family and friends.
Along with husband Jay, Gwen was preceded in death by her parents Reid and Vivian; son Joseph Gibson; and brother Fred Harder.
Survivors include son Travis Potter of Jefferson City, Missouri; stepchildren Cheryl McClay (Mike) of Columbia, South Carolina, Jayne Turner of Ottawa, Kansas, J.B. Gibson of Houston, Texas, and Cindy Goehry of Garrison, Texas; thirteen grandchildren Haylei Potter, Ashton Potter, Devin Turner (Nicole), Bryan Turner (Aaron), Juliana Norton (Ed), Preston McClay (Tiffany), Spencer McClay, Sue Harsch and Mark Smith (Ruth); many wonderful great grandchildren; Sister-In-Law Liz Harder; nephews Brad Harder (Scott) and Kevin Harder (Kristen); two very special “daughters of the heart” and their children Heather Cruz-Moore (Yadira) and daughters Talia and Leilani of Ottawa, Kansas and Cindy Norton also of Ottawa, Kansas and sons Cody (Elaine) and Caleb Hopkins and granddaughter Poppy.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Grace Episcopal Church c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
