Grant Arnold Haley, 38, passed into the arms of Jesus at his home on March 13, 2025 with his parents by his bedside. He was born in Olathe, Kansas on September 18, 1986 to Paul and Kathy Haley and siblings, Clint and Dana. Grant was baptized into Christ October 12, 1986 and confirmed his faith on April 8, 2001 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Paola, KS. He attended Trinity Lutheran School for 8 years, Paola High School, and Kansas State University.
Grant will be remembered as a fun loving, friendly, and talented individual. Always ready with a warm smile and laugh to include everyone to share his joy of life. He was active in 4-H, church youth group, and attended Kansas Boys State. Grant enjoyed all kinds of sports – baseball, soccer, football, basketball, golf, water and snow skiing, hunting, fishing, and boating. In 1997 his Paola Little League team won the Kansas State Championship. His special love was music and he sang in church and school choirs, K-State Men's Glee and A Cappella group, Cadence.
In 2010, at the age of 23 Grant was struck a tragic blow when he suffered a near fatal brain stem bleed. It left him with huge disabilities as he could no longer hear, speak, smile, or feel 95% of his body. After 18 months in hospitals, by the grace of God and many special caregivers, medIcal staff, and community support Grant was able to remain at home with family, especially enjoying the sunshine in his wheelchair.
Grant was preceded in death by grandparents, James & Glenadyne Haley and Arnold & Lorene Debrick. He leaves behind his parents, brother Clint & Michelle Haley, Emma and James, and sister Dana Simonson, Liam and Haley; also many more family, friends, and wonderful caregivers. Though his voice may be silent here on earth, his song will never fade from the hearts of those who loved him.
Visitation will be at Trinity Lutheran Church on Monday, March 17, 6-8 pm; funeral Tuesday, March 18, 2 pm with gathering at the Trinity shelter house following the burial. Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church, Heads Up Brain Injury Support, or PHS #368 Endowment.
