Grace Marie Steen

Grace Marie (Price) Steen, age 92, of Wellsville, Kansas, died Monday, November 25, 2002, at Meadowbrook Rehabilitation Hospital in Gardner, Kasas. She was the daughter of the late William Price and the late Mamie (Shirk) Price. Mrs. Steen was a resident of Wellsville since October of 1928, and was a Baldwin High School graduate. She was a lifelong homemaker. She also worked in the office of the Wellsville Globe on Thursdays for eight years; Wellsville Cafe fifteen years; Leon Miller's store a number of years; wrote news for Baldwin, Lawrence Journal World, Ottawa Times from 1928 to 1980, and Ottawa Herald weekly since January of 2000. She also did ironing and housecleaning a number of years and sold bread. On October 13, 1928, Grace was united in marriage with Charles W. Steen. He preceded her in death. Besides her parents and husband Grace was preceded in death by her daughter Mary Jane Steen. She was the last of her family. SERVICES: Mrs. Steen has been cremated. Private inurnment services will be held. CEMETERY: Prairie Cemetery, Baldwin City, Kansas.
