Golda Marie Colles, age 61 years young of Paola Kansas earned her wings on February 8, 2014. She was a limited edition, there was no one like her and if you knew her you were lucky. She was born on December 30, 1952 to James T. Fletcher who preceded her in death and Velary Iden of Iola, Kansas. She is also survived by her sister, Connie Wilson of Sioux Falls South Dakota; brothers, J.T. Fletcher of Moran Kansas, and Shayne Iden of Iola Kansas. She was preceded in death by an infant sister Lyleann Fletcher. Golda is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was united in marriage with the love of her life and best friend Bill Colles on October 30, 1987. Together they united their families. April Colborn of La Harpe, Kansas and Aaron Oswalt of Iola, Kansas (Both from Golda"s previous marriage) and Michael Colles of Las Vegas; Jenny Altis of Vassar, Kansas, and Sean Colles of Gardner, Kansas (from Bill"s previous marriage) Golda always said, "There are no step-children in our family." She is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren She always made sure everyone else was taken care of before herself this is why nursing was her career calling. She was also a pioneer in the hospice movement. Golda was always in her element when she was surrounded by her family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She always loved a bargain and was never afraid to search for one. We will all miss her smile, humor, and her strength. She was a warrior against cancer. She never felt sorry for herself. She was an inspiration to everyone that knew her. Memorial contributions can be made to Harden Hospice and St. Jude Children"s Research Hospital in Golda"s name.
