Gloria Natividad Alfaro

Gloria Natividad Alfaro, age 100, of Ottawa, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at AdventHealth Ottawa. A private family service will be held at a later date. Inurnment Fair Lawn Cemetery, Hutchinson, Kansas. Gloria was born August 21, 1920, in Ottawa, Kansas, the daughter of José Cortez and Juliana (Trejo) Cortez. She grew up in Ottawa, Kansas, moving in the late 1950’s to Hutchinson, Kansas. In the mid-1990’s, Gloria returned to Ottawa. She graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1938. Gloria was united in marriage to Chencho Alfaro in the late 1950’s in Ottawa. He preceded her in death in 1990. She was a devoted homemaker also working in the 1950’s in production at the Sunflower Ammunition Plant in De Soto. Gloria was a member of the Ottawa First Baptist Church. She enjoyed yard work, gardening, cooking, traveling, and her pet dogs. Gloria always loved the time she spent with family. She was also preceded in death by her parents and sister Frances Larios. Survivors include her sister Rachel Cortez of Ottawa and many nieces and nephews.
