Gloria I. Webster, age 88, of Paola, Kansas, passed away October 17, 2017 at Moran Manor, Moran, Kansas. Gloria was born on November 29, 1929 to Lillian Estelle Dillard Webster and William L. Webster, Sr. at Paola, Kansas. Gloria lived most of her life in the family home with her sister, Edna. When she was no longer able to stay in the home, she lived in North Point Skilled Nursing in Paola. She was later moved to Moran Manor in Moran, Kansas. The nursing staff in both facilities were devoted to caring for Gloria and loved her very much. Gloria loved the Lord and became a Christian at an early age. She loved doing yard work and had a “green thumb.” The flowers in her yard were beautiful. Many of Gloria’s skills and talents were self-taught and she was inspired by God and nature. Gloria loved to sing; many have said she had a voice like an angel. She also played piano, guitar and many other instruments. She enjoyed playing church songs on the piano. Gloria made beautiful quilts, sewn by hand. Gloria was an artist and talented writer. She could draw and paint beautifully, and many of her writing creations were done in calligraphy. Gloria loved taking walks and could be seen in her long-sleeved cotton and lace blouse with her flared skirt. In summer, she always wore a wide brimmed sun hat. She was a vision of loveliness. Gloria lived her life as a tribute to God. She was kind, caring, loving, thoughtful, studious, and sincere. She will be greatly missed. Gloria was preceded in death by her mother Lillian Dillard Webster; father Will Webster, Sr.; sister Edna Webster; brothers William Webster, Jr., Fred Webster, James Webster, George Webster, Charles Webster, and John Webster. She is survived by sisters-in-law Helen Webster of Paola and Bea Webster of Falcon Heights, MN; nieces Carol Thompson of Marietta, GA, Wanda Pearson of Rock Hill, SC, Danielle Mock, and Christiana Proverot; nephews Greg Webster of Overland Park, KS, Tim Webster of Olathe, KS, Ronnie Webster of Osawatomie, Mark Webster of Topeka and Ben Webster; cousins Gary Wimbush of Paola, Rita Moore of Paola and many other cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews across the United States.
