Glenda Loriee (Caruthers) Kraft was born July 31, 1959, in Olathe, Kansas. She was the second child born out of 5 children to Harold W. and Wanda “Karen” (O’Connor) Caruthers. She grew up outside of Wellsville, Kansas, as a young girl and had lots of fun and enjoyable times with her siblings whom she truly loved. Family will meet with friends from 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M., Monday, April 11, 2016, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Loriee attended Wellsville schools and graduated from Wellsville High School in 1976. A few years after graduation she became acquainted with her future husband Clayton. They met at Forest Park in Ottawa, started dating and eventually got married and had two boys. In the beginning of their marriage she and Clayton lived in western Kansas, living in Lindsborg and McPherson. During her stay in McPherson, she was employed at Taco Tico for about 5 years. She really enjoyed that job and had a manager who she truly liked, cared for, and had nothing but good things to say about. She and Clayton then moved back to Ottawa, Kansas, where their children were born. She was a homemaker while raising her boys and enjoyed every minute of it. She was always there for her boys, helped them in any way she could, and loved them tremendously. She then started working at COF Services in Ottawa, for 14 years. Loriee enjoyed sewing and quilting. She had made a few quilts for her family while also putting together various craft items that she would make for everyone. Loriee was also an exceptional cook and baker and everyone knew it. She was known for her homemade noodles, cupcakes, meatballs, chicken fajitas, 7 layer cookies and so much more. She especially loved the family gatherings at the holidays because she loved seeing all of her many nieces and nephews who brought so much joy to her life. She was united in marriage to Clayton Kraft November 16, 1981, in Miami, Oklahoma. They celebrated 34 years of marriage. He survives of the home. She is also survived by her two sons, Kyle Kraft of Gardner, Kansas and Logan Kraft of the home; sister, Lynne Edie of Palmdale, California; three brothers, Russ Caruthers and wife Dana of Wellsville, Kansas, Rod Caruthers of Wellsville, Kansas, and Ray Caruthers and wife Kim of Quenemo, Kansas; two sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Wanda “Karen” Caruthers; in-laws, Thomas and Wanda Kraft; grandparents, Columbus and Beatrice O’Connor, and Russel and Marie Caruthers; and two brothers-in-law. Loriee was a wonderful and caring wife, mother, aunt, and a friend to many. She will always be remembered and never forgotten.
