G. Raymond Fitzgerald, 95, Ottawa, died Thursday, May 3, 2007, at the Village Manor Nursing Home, Ottawa. He was born Feb. 25, 1912, in Greenwood Township to John and Nellie (Pruett) Fitzgerald. Raymond lived in Richmond, Kansas, twelve years, and over fifty years in Ottawa, Kansas. Raymond graduated from Pomona High School with the class of 1930. He owned a milk route early in their marriage, hauling to Bennett Creamery in Ottawa. He was later employed by Bennett`s as an engineer until the creamery closed. He then went to work as a maintenance engineer at Ransom Memorial Hospital in Ottawa, where he was chosen employee of the year in 1973, retiring in 1986. Two years later, he returned to work at Ransom Memorial Hospital mowing and landscaping until his second retirement in 1991. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Ottawa. On April 26, 1931, Raymond was united in marriage with Dorothy May Scoville in Osawatomie, Kansas. She survives of their home. SERVICE: Funeral services will be held from Dengel & Son Mortuary at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2007. IN STATE: The family will meet with friends at 10:00 a.m. at the Mortuary prior to the service. CEMETERY: Highland Cemetery in Ottawa, Kansas.
