Gladys Mae (Johnson) Spooner, age 92, of Coppell, Texas, died Friday, March 7, 2003, at CLC Woodridge Nursing Home in Grapevine, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Robert Johnson and the late Daisy (McGuire) Johnson. She is also survived by her daughter-Marilynn Cradduck of Coppell, Texas, Son-Charles Spooner of Kansas City, Missouri and Son-Max Spooner of Cody, Wyoming. She lived for a time as a child in Penn Yan, New York, Gage, Oklahoma, and Holton, Kansas. She lived in the Ottawa area seventy years before moving to Coppell, Texas, in 1997 to live with her daughter. Gladys graduated from Mayetta High School with the class of 1928. She was employed at Mode O'Day in Ottawa for twenty-three years, retiring in 1975. She was a volunteer at Ransom Memorial Hospital for twenty years, a member of Trinity United Methodist Church for sixty-three years, Lend-a-Hand Sunday School Class, and The Trinity Quilters. On August 10, 1928, Gladys was united in marriage with Eugene Estes Spooner at Topeka, Kansas. He preceded her in death on October 19, 1976. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 15, 2003. OFFICIATING CLERGY: Rev. Harriett Bechtle. CEMETERY: Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas.
