RESIDENCE HISTORY: She was a near lifelong resident of Ottawa, living in Kansas City, Kansas for a very short period of time after her marriage. OCCUPATION & BUSINESS: She worked for Hercules Powder Plant in DeSoto as a line worker during World War II and the Vietnam War. She worked in quality control for Parmalee Products twenty years, retiring in 1991. EDUCATION: She attended school in Rantoul, Kansas. MEMBERSHIPS: She was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #5901 Auxiliary, Ottawa. MARRIAGE: On October 1, 1946, Gladys was united in marriage with Barney L. Ledom at Kansas City, Kansas. He preceded her in death on August 22, 1981. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2005. Honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #5901 Auxiliary, Ottawa. OFFICIATING CLERGY: IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Ledom at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 5:00 p.m. Friday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends 6 to 7 Friday evening. CEMETERY: Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, Kansas. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorials to Gladys Ledom Memorial Fund, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
