Geraldine "Jerry" Johnson

Geraldine “Jerry” Johnson, 84, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Friday, May 3, 2013, at Good Samaritan Society of Olathe, Kansas. Funeral Services will be held at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa, 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013. Family will meet with friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. prior to service. Interment Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas. She was born on Saturday, December 29, 1928, at Princeton, Kansas, the daughter of Ernest “E.W.” and Eva Jenny (Valentine) Warner. Jerry lived most of her life in Ottawa, Kansas. She lived in Topeka, Kansas, from1977 to 1988 at which time she moved back to Ottawa. She graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1947. On June 13, 1947, Jerry was united in marriage with Clyde O. Johnson in Ottawa, Kansas. They were later divorced. Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Shackelford of Farmersville, CA, Karen “Elaine” Dryden and her husband Steve of Ottawa and Connie Billbe and her husband Kevin of Cookeville, TN; sister, Margie Conner, Walnut Creek, CA; 5 grandchildren, Stephanie Circle and her husband Jason of Ottawa, Kristi Dryden of Ottawa, Brett Hogue and his wife Suzy of New Berlin, WI, Tiffany Kelso and her husband Chad of Cookeville, TN and Jason Shackelford of California; 5 great-grandchildren and a niece, Cheryl Conner of Walnut Creek, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jean Schultz; 2 grandsons, Michael and Derick Dryden; 2 great-grandchildren, Sadye Circle and LillieAnna Kelso. Jerry was a lifelong homemaker. She enjoyed flowers and traveling to the Ozarks. Her favorite activities included spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the One to Six Club and the Intersay Club both of Ottawa.
