Gerald D. "Jerry" Vanrheen

Gerald Dean “Jerry” VanRheen, age 79, of Paola, Kansas passed away August 6, 2017 at Olathe Hospice House. Jerry was born in Rantoul, Kansas October 20, 1937 to Robert and Susie Huyett VanRheen. He attended school in Rantoul, Ottawa and Paola and graduated from Paola High School in 1955. He attended junior college in Independence, Kansas. Jerry married Linda Martin on December 21, 1962. They had three children, Jera LuAnn, Jerrett Blaine and Jerald Richard. Jerry worked for a national pipe line company for a while, then went to work for Taylor Forge and retired after 40 plus years. Jerry traveled some and attended and enjoyed his grandchildren’s sports events. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter LuAnn Fahey. He is survived by his wife Linda; children Jerrett VanRheen and Jerald VanRheen; and grandchildren Libby VanRheen, Alyx VanRheen, Taylor Fahey, Elly VanRheen, and Acy VanRheen. Memorial contributions may be made to Olathe Hospice House. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Dengel & Son Mortuary-Crematory, 305 N. Pearl St., Paola, KS.
