George J. Sell

George J. Sell, 91, of Stilwell, KS passed away Saturday, September 17, 2011 at St. Luke"s South Hospital, Overland Park, KS. He was born June 24, 1920 at Rush Center, KS, the son of William and Clara Rose (Panek) Sell. He was united in marriage to Wanema Hope Schoonover on January 1, 1947 in Kansas City, KS. George worked for Folgers Coffee Co. in Kansas City, MO for 36 years before retiring. He was in the United States Army serving during WWII. George was very active in the First Baptist Church, Stilwell, KS, helping to build the new church at its present location and volunteering his time with the caring ministry. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Wanema and two brothers, Lee H. Sell and Lester Sell, one sister Deanna Cotter. Survivors include one brother, Richard L. Sell, Wichita, KS; two sisters, Irene M Lichter, St. Louis, MO and Ethel M. Litzenberger, Denver, Colorado; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Stilwell.
