George M. Garrison, Jr., 88 of Osawatomie, KS passed away July 10 at Life Care Center of Osawatomie. George was born on February 24, 1922 to George M. Sr. and Susie Bledsoe Garrison in Lomine, MO. On May 9, 1942 he was united in marriage to Martha Virginia Overly in Boonville, MO; to this union two children were born. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on November 25, 1940 and served during WWII, being honorably discharged on June 21, 1945. He also went on to serve for 20 years in the National Guard. George was employed at Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Company for 39 " years. During his career at Panhandle, he was a Lineman, Truck Driver, and worked as a supervisor for 10 years in Brighton, CO before retiring in 1984. He was a member of the Paola VFW, American Legion, and the First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; five brothers, Norville, Orville, George, Elwood, Vester, and Charles; two sisters, Mary Martha Simmons and Evelyn Jeanette Smith. Survivors include his daughter, Sandra and husband Neil Minden of Broomfield, CO; son, Bill Garrison of Paola, KS; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Lorene Jackson of Booneville, MO , OlaMae Henderson of Muscatine, IA, and Isabelle Jackson of Boonville, MO.
