George E. Fischer, 88, of Garnett, Kansas died on Saturday, February 7, 2009. He was born on Tuesday, November 9, 1920, in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the son of Earnest George and Marie (Clark) Fischer-Martin. He lived in Garnett, Kansas the past three years, moving from Kansas City, Kansas, where he had been a resident most of his life. George was a truck driver for thirty-one years, retiring in 1980. He was a Masonic Lodge, Camper, and Rock Club member. On September 1, 1941, George was united in marriage with Evelyn Burton in Wyandotte, Kansas. She survives of their home. Survivors include: Daughter-Linda Sprague of Richmond, Kansas Daughter-Gail Hinkle of Platte City, Missouri Son-Herman Fischer of Sedalia, Missouri Son-Wade Fischer of Ozawkie, Kansas Grandchildren-Twelve Gt. Grandchildren-Fourteen Gt.Gt. Grandchildren-One He was preceded in death by: Father-Earnest George Fischer Mother-Marie (Clark) Fischer-Martin Daughter-Shela Fischer Brother-Ernest Fischer Half Brother-Cecil Martin Half Brother-Glenn Martin SERVICES: Memorial services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2009.
