George Ercole, age 87, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Thursday, July 23, 2009, at Village Manor Nursing Home in Ottawa. He was born on Monday, January 30, 1922, in Albany, New York. He was the son of Ganriele and Maria (Tucilli) Ercole. George grew up in New York state, moving to New Orleans, Louisiana in the 1940’s and Ottawa in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina. George graduated from high school in New York. He was a waiter thirty years for Café DuMonde in New Orleans. A Pearl Harbor survivor, George served in the United States Army as a cook during World War II. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Ottawa. On January 17, 2004, George was united in marriage with Audrey Pichon. She preceded him in death March 29, 2009. Cremation is planned. Private family services will be held at a later date. Inurnment at St. Louis Cemetery No. Three, New Orleans, Louisiana. Survivors include: Stepdaughter-Jackie P. Fetter of Ottawa, Kan. Stepdaughter-Peggy Pasquith & her husband, Frank, of Ottawa, Kan. Stepson-Thomas E. Pichon of Chalmette, Louisiana Stepdaughter-Susan A. Dennis of New Orleans, Louisiana Stepson-David Pichon & his wife, Jane, of Metairie, Louisiana Stepdaughter-Mary Fanguy & her husband, Danny, of Houma, Louisiana Grandchildren-Fourteen Gt.Grandchildren-Twenty-nine He was preceded in death by: Wife-Audrey (Pichon) Ercole Father-Ganriele Ercole Mother-Maria (Tucille) Ercole Two children; one brother; and one sister
