George Dillenbeck

George Dillenbeck, age 60, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2014. He was born on an army base at Stuttgart, Germany on January 30, 1954 to LW and Marion Dillenbeck where his dad was stationed. Living in various states, he grew up from New York to Utah to California. When he was 17, he joined the army and served a tour in Germany as a Paratrooper. He was married in 1974 to the mother of his three children Kristy, Ben and Tanya and later divorced in 1984. He was married to Barbara Mueller in January 1985 and had a son Bill in 1993. He worked for Civil Service on Camp Pendleton as equipment operator and crane operator, his favorite job, and security at San Onofre Nuclear Plant. He also worked for Rancho Santa Fe Security. They moved to Kansas in 1991 and George worked a few construction jobs, but because of his heath and Barbara, he switched to security work, working for Olathe Hospital Security, Plaza Security, Allied Barton, and at Bank Midwest as an armed guard. He was preceded in death by his parents, LW Dillenbeck and Marion Dillenbeck, sister Patricia Dowden, brother Michael Dillenbeck and grandson Christian Wagner. Surviving are his wife Barbara; children Kristy Dillenbeck of Springville, California, Benjamin Dillenbeck of Pueblo West, Colorado, Tanya Metzler (Charlie) of Jamul, California, Bill Dillenbeck of Paola, Kansas and a step son, Mike Fanning (Michelle) of Mooresville, North Carolina; nine grandchildren; three nieces Wendy Perez of Birmingham, Alabama, Robin Pickard of Gaffney, South Carolina and Melody Godfrey of Albemarle, North Carolina. Memorials may be made to the Miami County Cancer Foundation, Trinity Lutheran Church, or VA Hospital.
