George David Webster

George David Webster, age 88, of Prescott, Kansas, formerly of Paola, Kansas and Linn Valley Lakes, died May 10, 2014 at Prescott Country View Nursing Home, Prescott, Kansas. George was born February 22, 1926 at Paola, Kansas. He was the fifth of eight children born to William L. and Stella L. (Dillard) Webster. He grew up in Paola and attended Paola schools. He served his country with the United States Navy during World War II. He was honorably discharged in June of 1946. George was united in marriage to Maxcine Whitney on October 26, 1963 at Kansas City, Missouri. He worked as a tool and die machinist. He had worked at Ingersoll Machine and Welding in Paola for four years and Union Machine and Tool Works in Kansas City, Kansas for over 30 years. After retiring, he and his wife lived at Linn Valley Lake for over 20 years. He loved living on the lake enjoying fishing, boating, golfing, and just relaxing on his dock. George was a race car and motor bike enthusiast. He obtained his pilot"s license after his discharge from the Navy. Traveling with his wife and friends was also one of his favorite pastimes. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; five brothers Bill, Johnny, Fred, Frank, and Charles; and sister Edna Webster. He is survived by his sister Gloria Webster; step son Randolph Harris III; three step daughters, Wilda Cooper, Robin Robinson and Janet (Thurman) Pittman; 10 grandchildren Robert Harris, Rodney Harris, Candace R. Cooper, Curtis A. Cooper III, Kimberly Robinson, Charla Robinson, Darcel Roebuck, Jr., Danielle Harvey, Donisha Young and DaLonda Smith; 26 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
