Gene Norris

Walter E. "Gene" Norris, age 79, of Louisburg, Ks. passed away Friday, May 1, 2009 at his home. He was born August 14, 1929 in Independence, Mo., the son of Glen W. and Hazel M. Himes Norris. He was united in marriage to Virginia Renner on Sept. 17, 1950, in Louisburg, KS. He was a member of the United States Marine Corp from 1946 to 1948. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Gabriel Dibben on April 2, 1996. Survivors include his wife Virginia of the home; 3 daughters, Janice Norris, Albuquerque, New Mexico; Jennifer Mallory-Stewart & husband Jim of Overland Park, KS. Glenna Norris & husband John Carter of Los Angeles, CA; 3 grandsons Colby & Cameron Mallory and Aaron Dibben and 3 great grandchildren, Reyna and Julian Mallory and Emery Dibben. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at the Louisburg United Methodist Church, Louisburg, KS. Visitation will be 6:00 " 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2009 at the chuch. Burial in the Louisburg Cemetery with Military Honors by John P. Hand Post #250. The family suggests contributions to Odyssey Hospice Health Care or to Miami County Cancer Foundation.
