Gary Smith

Gary Allen Smith, born Feb. 5, 1936, to D.A. and Pauline Smith, Hillsdale, KS.

After Hillsdale grade school, Gary graduated from Spring Hill Kansas High School with the class of 1953. He attended Baker University. Gary worked a short time for Taylor Forge before beginning his Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. 35 year career retiring in 1990.

Gary is survived by his wife Leona (Block) of almost 50 years, sister Sally Richardson, Humbolt, NE, son Doug Smith, Gardner, KS, daughter Melaine Hamilton (Derek), Olathe, KS, step-daughter Michella Jackson (Derek), Manhattan, KS. His grandchildren; Anna Rubey (Mike), Beloit, KS, Madalyn Hamilton, Olathe, KS, Elise Jackson, Manhattan, KS, Evan Hamilton, Olathe, KS. Great-grandchildren; Grayson and Keegan Rubey.
