Gary Ray Crane, 70, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away at his home on Monday, March 28, 2022. Cremation is planned. Family will meet with friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Gary was born June 7, 1951, in Ottawa, the son of Ralph and Colleen (Jones) Crane. He was a lifelong Ottawa resident, graduating from Ottawa High School with the Class of 1969. On December 29, 1992, Gary was united in marriage to Pamela Linneman in Oklahoma. They celebrated 30 years of marriage. Gary was employed at Kalmar as a welder for 45 years, retiring in 2018. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching his kids and grandkids play sports. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Crane; stillborn son Brandon Steele; and sister-in-law, Kandee Crane. Survivors include his wife, Pamela Crane; three children, Kodi Rae Crane of Ottawa, Erin LeaAnn (James) Gipson, Jr. also of Ottawa, and Jerrica (Tommy) Harmon of Pomona; mother, Colleen Crane of Ottawa; three siblings, Terry Crane of Ottawa, Sheri (Ron) Whitaker of Overbrook, and Kerry “Ace” (Shawn) Kloog of Gardner; eleven grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. The family suggests memorial contributions payable to Pamela Crane to be used for an educational fund for great-granddaughter, Estelle Crane c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
