Gary L. Bowling, 66, of Ottawa, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2019, at his home. Cremation is planned. Family will meet with friends from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at the mortuary. Inurnment Highland Cemetery in Ottawa, with military honors by the United States Air Force Honor Guard. Gary was born February 8, 1953 in Ottawa, the son of Norman G. and Shirley J. (Sellers) Bowling. He was a lifelong Ottawa resident and attended Ottawa High School. Gary served in the United States Air Force in the 15 CIVIL ENGR SQ (PACAF) as a Protective Coating Specialist. He served from June 29, 1971 until being discharged June 28, 1977, attaining the rank of Sergeant E-4. Gary was united in marriage with JuLee Butler January 1, 1993 in Ottawa. She preceded him in death February 1, 2013. He was united in marriage with Letecia Reyes Paderna June 17, 2017, in Manila, Philippines. She survives of their home. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Shirley Bowling and brothers, Charles Bowling and Rex Bowling. Survivors include his daughter, Jenny Jackson of Keller, Texas; stepchildren, Coleen Maputi of the Philippines, Brandy Johnson of Eudora, Josh Bowling of Raleigh, North Carolina, Crystal Soph of Ottawa and Ashea Finch also of Ottawa; sisters-in-law, Eileen Bowling and Mary Beth Bowling both of Ottawa; grandson, Tyler Jackson; and step grandchildren, Cheyenne Bueno, Camden Johnson, Holden Pike, Alexis Finch, Zachary Finch and Jacee Goad. Gary worked eighteen years as an electrician at Duke Manufacturing in Ottawa and thirteen years as lead groundskeeper for Ottawa USD 290. He attended First Christian Church of Ottawa and Richter United Methodist Church of Pomona. The family suggests memorial contributions to Prairie Paws Animal Shelter c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
