Gary Dean Gillett

Gary Dean Gillett, age 55, of Basehor, Kansas, died Tuesday, September 23, 2003, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the son of the late Harland Gillett and Helen (Riggs) Cronin. Gary was a current resident of Basehor, Kansas. He and his family moved from Iowa to the Kansas City area in 1953. He attented school in Smithville, Liberty and Argentine High School, Kansas City, Kansas. He had a fuel transportation business in Parkville, Missouri, for several years. Since that time, he was employed by Casey's General Stores. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf. He liked mechanical work, and refurbished old cars. He liked being home working in his yard and garden. In 1978, Gary was united in marriage with Patricia Porter at Kansas City, Kansas. She survives of their home. He is also survived by: Son-Mark Evan Gillett of the home, Son-Matthew David Gillett of the home, Mother-Helen Cronin of Olathe, Kansas, Stepfather-Ray Cronin of Olathe, Kansas, Sister-Jeanine Smith of Princeton, Kansas, Brother-Harland W. Gillett of McLouth, Kansas, Brother-Dennis L. Gillett of Rantoul, Kansas, Stepbrother-Larry Laird of Kansas City, Kansas. He was preceded in Death by his Father-Harland F. Gillett and Maternal Grandparents-Maynard & Bertha Riggs. VISITATION & SERVICES: Family will meet with friends at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa, Kansas, 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 27, 2003, prior to 11:00 a.m. funeral services. OFFICIATING CLERGY: Fr.
