Freddie C. “Fred” Moak, 80, of Ottawa, passed away Monday, October 1, 2018. Private family graveside will be held at Highland Cemetery in Ottawa. Memorial service will be held at 7:00 P.M., Thursday, October 4, 2018, at the Southside Church of Christ, 1105 W. 25th Street, Lawrence. Family will meet with friends immediately following the service with refreshments. Fred was born December 28, 1937, in Cleveland County, Oklahoma, the son of John and Velma (Mitchell) Moak. He grew up and lived in Oklahoma most of his life until moving to Olathe, Kansas in 1990. He moved to Ottawa in 2013. He graduated from high school in Moore, Oklahoma, with the class of 1958. Fred was united in marriage with Eilene (Widmer) Fox April 14, 1990. She survives of their home. He was preceded in death by parents, John and Velma Moak; son, Kevin Fox; siblings, Pauline Daniel and Gerald Moak; and grandson, Benjamin Johns. Survivors include children, Teresa Best and husband Johnny of Tuscon, Arizona, Dena Nassan of Dallas, Texas, Rick Hansett of Las Vegas, Nevada, Richard Moak and fiancé Sheryl Williams of Sierra Vista, Arizona and Jason Moak and wife Melissa of Del City, Oklahoma; Shari Baggett and husband Bryan of Grain Valley, Missouri and Tim Fox and fiancé Kim Karigan of Olathe; siblings, Genevieve Reynolds of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Lloyd Moak and wife Barbara Joy of Moore, Oklahoma, Clara Jackson of Austin, Texas and Esther Cook of Moore, Oklahoma; sixteen grandchildren; and twenty-four great grandchildren. Immediately out of high school, Fred went to work in construction, framing houses until his retirement in 1999. He was a member of the Southside Church of Christ in Lawrence. Fred loved camping, fishing and following the OU Sooners and Denver Broncos. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Southside Church of Christ c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
