Fred W. Geiger

Fred W. Geiger, 89, died May 28, 2017 at North Point Nursing Home in Paola Kansas. Fred was born on July 22, 1927, son of John Geiger and Retta M. DeVore in Miami County. He was a long time Paola resident. Fred joined the Navy on February 9, 1945 and served 11 years. He was a World War II veteran and left the Navy on May 4, 1956. He returned to Paola where he drove a truck for Union Gas. Fred enjoyed Skeet Shooting where he participated in many tournaments. Fred retired at 58 and spent time competing in pistol tournaments and practicing at the range. Fred will be missed by his family and friends and will always be remembered.
