Frankye Jean Thornbrugh

Frankye Jean Thornbrugh, age 92, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Monday, September 24, 2012 at Richmond Healthcare & Rehabilitation in Richmond, Kansas. She was born on Saturday, October 18, 1919, in Williamsburg, the daughter of William Franklin Wiscombe and Nancy Pearl (Shaffer) Wiscombe. Frankye has lived in Ottawa since 1996 moving here from the Williamsburg area where she had lived all her life. She attended Williamsburg schools. Frankye was a homemaker. She was a member of the Williamsburg United Methodist Church. On October 10, 1936, Frankye was united in marriage with Richard E. Thornbrugh at Garnett, Kansas. He preceded her in death on March 31, 1983. She is survived by her: Daughter – Cheryl Hetrick, Tecumseh, Kansas; Son - Richard D. Thornbrugh and his wife, Joan, Lawson, Missouri; Daughter - Virginia VanValkenburg and her husband, Harry, Independence, Missouri; Daughter - Sandra Byron and her husband, Rich, Texas City, Texas; Daughter - Connie Norris and her husband, Ken, Lawrence, Kansas; Daughter - Kathie Romstedt, Ottawa, Kansas; Grandchildren – 16; Great-grandchildren – 36 and Great-great-grandchildren - 5. She is preceded in death by Parents – William F. & Nancy P. Wiscombe; Brother - Emery Bill Wiscombe; Sister - Nadine Williamson; Sister - Irma Carpenter and Son-in-law – Lawrence Hetrick. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from Williamsburg United Methodist Church, Williamsburg, Kansas, 10:00 A.M. Thursday, September 27, 2012. Family will meet with friends one hour prior to service. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Thornbrugh at Dengel & Son Mortuary from 2:00 to 9:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 26, 2012.
