Frank W. Fritts, 72, of Ottawa, passed away Monday, May 28, 2018, at Olathe Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Family will meet with friends from 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M., Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at the mortuary. Interment Highland Cemetery, Ottawa. Frank was born February 12, 1946, in Ottawa, Kansas, the son of Clifford and Naomi (Funk) Fritts. He was a lifelong Ottawa resident. Frank went to several one-room country schools while growing up. He moved to the country from Ottawa after the flood of 1951. Frank graduated from Davey Grade School, west of Ottawa near the old Ottawa Speedway. He graduated from Pomona High School with the class of 1964. Frank was united in marriage to Priscilla Geiss-Harrell November 12, 1966 at Ottawa. She preceded him in death on May 20, 2004. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Naomi Fritts; brother, Richard Fritts; and sister-in-law, Shirley Fritts. Survivors include his son, John Fritts of Ottawa; two brothers, Charles “Chuck” Fritts of Ottawa, and Clifford “Skip” Fritts and (James Sugarman) of Atlantis, Florida; sister-in-law, Judi Fritts of Houston, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. Frank was employed by the Skyhook Corporation (later Phoenix Corp.) for 38 years before the company was purchased and moved to Texas. At that point, he retired after serving the company as a machinist, service manager, director of purchasing, and assistant general manager. He was a member of Aerie Lodge 2700 Fraternal Order of Eagles, Ottawa, where he served as president 3 separate times. Frank served at the state level as District Director and Membership Chairman. He also served as Worthy State President from 1994 to 1995 and South Central Regional President from 1995 to 1996. Frank was the chairman of many charities. This year he was chosen as the State Auxiliary Little Brother to the Spina Bifida Association which he favored.
