Frank Luther Morgan was born March 24, 1925, in the Appanoose Community, Franklin County, Kansas. He was the son of Ira W. and Rachel L. (Fishburn) Morgan. A lifelong Franklin County resident, he made his home in Ottawa the past thirty-four years, until his death Sunday, January 13, 2002, at the age of seventy-six years. He was a lifelong farmer. He was also a driver for Glen Woods Trucking in Ottawa for thirty years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of West 15th Street Church of Christ in Ottawa. Frank loved gardening and farming. His greatest enjoyment, however, came from his family and granddaughters. He was a very loving and kind father, husband, and grandfather, who never had a bad word to say about anybody. On December 22, 1967, Frank was united in marriage with Marvel Montgomery-Barnes at Ottawa. She survives of their home. Also, surviving are his son, Terry Barnes and his wife, Elisa, of Ottawa, and, three granddaughters, Kelsey Hinman, Krista Hinman and Sheridan Morgan Barnes. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Leonard Morgan and Ralph Morgan. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2002. OFFICIATING CLERGY: Steve Harbison, Officiant IN STATE: Mr. Morgan will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 5:00 p.m. Monday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends 7 to 8:00 Wednesday evening.
