Francisco Ygnacio `Frank` Mora, 65, of Ottawa, Kansas, died on Thursday, May 15, 2008, at Richmond Healthcare Center in Richmond, Kansas. He was born on Sunday, April 18, 1943, in Ottawa, Kansas. He was the son of Jose and Leonarda (Valdovino) Mora. He was a lifelong resident of Ottawa and spent some of his life residing in Kansas City Missouri. Frank graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1962. His aspiration was to attend college and study history education. He worked as a headwaiter at The Alameda Hotel, later called The Ritz Carlton, on Seville Square Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri, for fourteen years. He was a member of La Sociedad de Guadalupe in Kansas City, Missouri, and Sacred Heart Church in Ottawa. He devoted many of his younger years working with many groups to ensure equal rights for all. In the earlier part of his life, Mr. Mora volunteered much of his time to creating positive working environments for all people. Frank had a love for gardening and for sharing his culture with others. Frank never married. He was a good friend to many. He was fond of his nieces and nephews and took care of his mother in his younger years. He was godfather to his niece, and to the children of many of his friends. Survivors include a brother, Ram'n Mora, Warrensburg, Mo.; a brother, Guadalupe Mora, Ottawa; a sister, Catalina Mora Madrigal, Mexico; and a friend, Burton Blake Mitchell, Kansas City, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Josephine Mora Garcia and Juanita Mora. SERVICES: A Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Ottawa at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2008. IN STATE: Cremation is planned. INTERMENT: Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Ottawa, Kansas.
