Francis Paul Shirley, Jr., age 83, of LaCygne, KS, formerly of Louisburg, KS, died Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, KS. He was born July 1, 1926 in Seneca, MO, the son of Francis Paul, Sr. and Nellie Chester Shirley. Paul was a pipefitter for forty years and a member of the Pipefitters Local #533. He was a veteran of the Marine Corp of W.W. II and the Korean War. He was a Mason for fifty years and a member of the Masonic Lodge of Raytown #391, a member of the American Legion, Overland Park, KS Post 370 and the VFW of Louisburg, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Bill Shirley, a son, Kevin Hosey and a daughter, Michelle McCloud. He is survived by his wife Sharron Shirley, of the home; 3 daughters, Paula Kay Howard, KimaLe Sheridan and Tisha Bulk; 3 sons, Bryan Shirley, Scott Hosey and Brandon Hosey; 1 brother, Barry Shirley; 1 sister, Alma Joan Renegar; 16 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at 10:00am at the Louisburg United Methodist Church, Louisburg, KS. Visitation will be from 5:00 " 8:00pm Monday, February 1, 2010 at the Penwell Gabel Chapel, Louisburg. Contributions to Louisburg American Legion Post # 250 or the VFW Post # 7348. Burial will be in the Louisburg Cemetery with Military Honors.
