Francis D. 'Frank' Fisher, 71, Pomona, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008, at Olathe Medical Center. He was born Jan. 23, 1937, at Topeka to John Leland and Dorothy C. (Bradley) Fisher. He lived at Topeka until 1956 when he joined the military. He lived at Kansas City, Kan., and moved to Pomona in November 1982. He graduated from Hayden High School in 1955. He served in the U.S. Army from February 1956 to March 1960. He attained the rank of private first class. He was a member of Teamsters Local No. 41, Kansas City, Mo. He worked at GK Warehouse from 1960 until 1982, while affiliated with Teamsters Local No. 41, Kansas City, Mo. He retired from the Osage County Sheriff's Department in 1998. He was undersheriff for three years and sheriff for a year. Survivors include a daughter, Dana McLaughlin, Independence, Mo.; brothers, Ronald C. Fisher, Lenexa, James L. Fisher, and his companion, Retha Verhage, Shawnee, and Larry Fisher, and his wife, Nina, Ottawa; and grandsons, Trevor McLaughlin and Cade McLaughlin, both of Independence, Mo. SERVICES: A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona, Kansas 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2008. IN STATE: Mr. Fisher will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, to the service hour where the family will meet with friends 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening.
