Francis "Diane" Husted

Francis "Diane" Husted, 81, of Paola, Kansas unexpectedly passed away on August 9, 2024, at her home.

She was born on October 7, 1942 to Franklin and LaVonia (Thornton) Damron in Oklahoma City, OK. Diane was one of four children. She graduated from Classen High School, class of 1960. She would then move to Paola after graduating high school when she was 18 years old.

Diane worked a few jobs in her life. She retired from Wal-Mart but was known for being a florist at Paola Floral and Gifts.

On June 7, 1963, Diane was united in marriage to Ronald Dean Husted. Having recently celebrating their 61st anniversary before her passing. To this union, two daughters were born, Robin and Jennifer, and a son, John.

Diane enjoyed spending her time growing flowers, maintaining the gardens and spending time at home. Her and Ron attended many softball tournaments, she had a great love of sports and cheered on the Kansas City Chiefs, Royals and the KU Jayhawks. She loved her family dearly and spoke highly about them often to anyone who would listen.

Diane is survived by her husband of the home, Ronald Husted, daughters, Robin (Brad) Ennis and Jennifer (Jeff) Haley, all of Paola and sister, Sylvia Kehoe. As well as 6 grandchildren, Shaylan Miller, Ashley Ludwick, Thaddeus Husted, Kenna Haley, Katie Haley, and Krista Haley. 3 great-grandchildren, Kelbi Miller, Rhett Miller, Wren Ludwick, with one more due in November.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, William and James Damron, and son John Husted.
