Frances Pearl Buckshot Mallicoat was born May 24, 1923, at Ottawa, Kansas. She was the daughter of Floyd and Ethel (Gregg) Lee. She lived in Kansas City, Missouri for several years, moving to Ottawa in 1964, where she made her home until her death Tuesday, February 19, 2002, at the age of seventy-eight years. She was a lifelong homemaker and waitress. She is survived by her son, Jim Martin and his wife, Barb, of Independence, Missouri; brother, Floyd Lee, Jr., of Columbia, Missouri; two sisters, Minnie Leach of Wellsville, Kansas, Josephine Patterson of Ottawa, Kansas; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and, one great-great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Edna Leach, Opal Markley; and, brother, Clifford Lee. SERVICES: Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 21, 2002, at Evergreen Mound Cemetery. OFFICIATING CLERGY: Rev. Paul Winkler. IN STATE: Mrs. Mallicoat will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary from Wednesday evening to the service hour. CEMETERY: Evergreen Mound Cemetery, Franklin County, Kansas.
