Frances Marie Morrow Anderson was born on Sunday, June 14, 1925, at Santa Rosa, New Mexico. She was the daughter of Edward Morrow and Mildred Cole Morrow. In 2004, Mrs. Anderson moved from Richmond, Kansas to Ottawa Retirement Village Plaza, where she made her home until her death Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at the age of eighty-three years. Growing up in New Mexico, Frances graduated from Tucumcari High School with the class of 1943 and from University of New Mexico in 1947. On October 7, 1950, Frances was united in marriage with Elmer Mack Anderson at Tucumcari, New Mexico. Following their marriage, they ranched and farmed in New Mexico for about fifteen years. During this time, she taught piano in the Tatum, New Mexico School System and gave private lessons in their home. The family was drawn to Kansas because of its climate and moved to Spring Hill in 1965. Frances was a secretary for Kansas University Medical Center and the Spring Hill Kansas School District. She and Elmer sold insurance and real estate. They moved to Richmond in 1972, where they had an extensive hay operation and raised cattle. Frances once again gave piano lessons to many Richmond children including her grandkids. Frances was always a warm, loving, and giving person. She enjoyed playing the organ and piano for the area churches; the Central Heights Swing Group; area 4-H members; friends; and weddings. She enjoyed sharing her musical talents with all who would listen, especially her family. Her favorite times were playing cards with friends, going to boats and casinos, and especially being with her grandchildren. She spent many hours watching as they worked their 4-H animals, other projects, and participated in sports and music.
