Frances Lucille Hastings, 70, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020, at Olathe Medical Center. Family will meet with friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday, December 4, 2020, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Inurnment Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Rockland, Massachusetts will be held later. Frances was born November 22, 1949, at Rockland, Massachusetts, the daughter of Kenneth and Lucille (O’Connor) Lowe. She lived in North Abington, Massachusetts, moving to Ottawa in 1986. She graduated from Abington High School, Abington, Massachusetts, with the class of 1967. Frances was united in marriage to Tommy Hastings November 3, 1973, at North Abington, Massachusetts. He survives of the home. Frances was employed with Walmart in Ottawa, as a salesclerk from 1986 to 1997. She later worked 20 years with Hobby Lobby in Lawrence as an office manager, retiring in 2016. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, and Sunflower Quilt Guild both of Ottawa. Frances enjoyed quilting, traveling, especially to Las Vegas, and visiting casinos. She loved her family and the time they spent together. Frances was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, John Cullinan. Other survivors include her two sons, Michael Hastings of Ottawa, and Matthew (Dawn) Hastings also of Ottawa; two siblings, Karen (Richard) Byers of Rockland, Massachusetts, and Larry (Susan) Lowe of Marshfield, Massachusetts; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and multiple nieces and nephews.
