Frances Jacobson

Frances Haley Jacobson, age 83, Louisburg, passed away from this life on Friday, May 30, 2008 while at her home and surrounded by family. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday June 3, 2008 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Visitation will be one hour prior from 10: 00 " 11:00 AM Tuesday at the church. Inurnment in Sante Fe National Cemetery, Sante Fe, NM. Frances was born on December 3, 1924 in Ogdensburg, New York, the daughter of William Bernard Haley and Joan Leary Haley. One of seven siblings, she grew up in Potsdam, New York where she graduated from high school in 1941. Frances and Rollyn Phillip Jacobson were married on June 7, 1952, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in St. Louis, Missouri. After attending secretarial school, Frances worked as a secretary in the airline, aircraft, finance and legal fields, most recently as the secretary to the senior partner at Feldman, Franden, Woodard, and Farris, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she worked for 11 years. Frances had a love of all things Irish, and led a deeply spiritual life, an active member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Louisburg. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, parents and five siblings, her sisters Catherine and Rita, and her brothers Jim, Bill, and Joe. Frances is survived by her daughter Susan Willhoite and husband Steve, of Louisburg, Kansas; her son Hank Jacobson and wife Lesa, of Stillwater, Oklahoma; her sister Margaret Haley Christopher Mankins, of Dallas, Texas; Grandchildren, Brian and Brandon Willhoite, her sister in law Genevieve Ciszewski, of Syracuse, New York; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and children whom she loved deeply. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions may be given to Catholic Charities or to Good Shepherd Hospice in care of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Louisburg KS.
