Frances Samyn, 75, of Williamsburg, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at her home. Funeral services will be held at Dengel & Son Mortuary, 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 26, 2013. Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Samyn at Dengel & Son Mortuary after 1:00 P.M. Thursday, July 25, 2013. A Rosary will be said at 6:30 Thursday evening, followed by family and friends visitation at 7:00. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Olathe, Kansas. Frances was born on Thursday, December 23, 1937 in St. Louis, Missouri. She was the daughter of Clarence and Pauline (Patterson) Buckley. She grew up in Overland Park, Kansas moving to Olathe, Kansas after she married. For the past 23 years she made her home in Williamsburg. She graduated from St. Joseph High School with the class of 1955. On September 28, 1957 Frances was united in marriage with Albert Samyn in Overland Park. He survives of the home. Also surviving are her three children, daughter, Karen Chanay and husband Tim of Pomona, son, Mike Samyn and wife Linda of Olathe, and daughter, Connie Briar and husband Steve of Olathe; grandchildren, Amanda and Matthew Chanay, Jake and Scott Samyn, David Hurley, Wendy Montgomery, and Brad and Brittney Briar; and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Pauline Buckley. Frances was a devoted lifelong homemaker. She was a member of the Williamsburg Bible Study Group and the Acorn Schoolhouse Ladies Club.
