Forrest M. Wallace, age 89, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka, Kansas. He was born on Tuesday, October 4, 1921, in Median, Kansas, the son of James E. and Hester Olive (Hurst) Wallace. He resided in Neosho, Missouri before recently moving to Ottawa. Forrest graduated from Granby (Missouri) High School with the class of 1939. He worked as a car salesman until retiring at the age of seventy-five. He served with the United States Army Air Force completing fifty-two missions as a belly gunner on a B-24 bomber during World War II. On April 6, 1946, Forrest was united in marriage with Winona Ruth Avery. She survives of Neosho, Missouri. He is survived by his: Wife-Winona Ruth Wallace of Neosho, Missouri; Son-Ron Wallace and his wife, Anna, of Ottawa, Kansas; Son-John Wallace of Missouri; Sister-Margaret Records of Neosho, Missouri; Sister-Betty Ensor of Joplin, Missouri; Sister-Yonavie Hierholzer of Neosho, Missouri and Sister-Peggy Keatts of Joplin, Missouri. He is preceded in death by his: Parents-James E. and Hester Olive Wallace; Sister-Hazel Belka; Brother-Jay Wallace and Brother-Glenn Wallace. SERVICES: Cremation is planned. Private family services will be held at a later date.
