Floyd Challacomb age 79, of Louisburg, KS passed away September, 2, 2015 at Kansas City Hospice House. He was born June 5, 1936 in Los Angeles, CA to Rose Thomas and David George Challacomb. He married his wife Dorothy Leventhal on October 2, 1960 in Las Vegas, NV. Floyd was a brilliant plumber a true tradesman. He was self-employed for 36 years in Southern California. Floyd was an incredibly hard worker and not only provided for his family but many others in need who came into his life. He was devoted to his family and known for his corny sense of humor. He was always singing or whistling. He was a good husband and wonderful father who was a voracious reader and loved westerns. He always talked about how lucky he was that he lived in a small town where he could "poke bellies" over coffee at the Louisburg Senior Center. He was preceded in death by his mother and father and eight siblings. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, Lousiburg, KS; sons, Steven Challacomb and wife Shawna, CA; Robert Challacomb, CA; daughter, Sheri Challacomb Gurske and husband, Kent, Louisburg, KS; seven grandchildren, Hannah and Sarah Gurske, Jonathon, Adam and Katie Challacomb and Destiny and Trinity McKee. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Louisburg United Methodist Church, 249 N. Metcalf Road, Louisburg, KS.
