Florine Morgan

Florine Morgan, 82, a longtime Ottawa resident, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Topeka. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Heritage Baptist Church, 1781 E. 800 Road, Lawrence. Mrs. Morgan will lie in state from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Friday, June 22, 2018, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Interment Appanoose Cemetery, Douglas County. Florine was born February 10, 1936 in Garnett, Kansas, the daughter of Ralph H. and Thelma M. (Sanders) Mains. She grew up in Garnett and graduated from Garnett High School with the class of 1954. She moved to Ottawa a couple of years after graduating from high school and in 2014 moved to Topeka. Florine was united in marriage to Eldon R. Morgan December 24, 1957, at Ottawa, Kansas. He preceded her in death on February 21, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Thelma Mains; brothers, Harold and Larry Mains and twin sister, Lorine Turner. Florine is survived by her three sons, Earl Morgan and wife Anita of Topeka, Ronnie Morgan and wife Rhonda of Wichita, and Arthur Morgan and wife Christina of Princeton; brother, Floyd Mains of Greeley; thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She worked thirty years in production at King Radio/Allied-Signal, retiring in 2009. Florine later worked at McDonalds for several years in Ottawa. She was a member for twenty-two years at Heritage Baptist Church in Lawrence where she was active in the nursing home ministry. Over the years, Florine enjoyed doing cross stitch, puzzles, painting and bowling. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heritage Baptist Church c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
