Fern Marie (McCafferty) Fabert, 87, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Sunday, February 13, 2005, at her home. She was born Friday, August 10, 1917, in Washington, Indiana. She was employed twenty-six years as a sales representative for ZCMI Department store in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was a member of the Ottawa Horticulture Study Club and frequent patron of the local Senior Center. On April 10, 1935, Fern was united in marriage with Charles Dallas Fabert, Sr. at Paola, Kansas. He preceded her in death on August 18,1985. Her survivors include: Daughter-Alice Steward of Ottawa, Kan. Son-Charles Dallas Fabert, Jr. of Sun City West, Ariz. Son-Bill Fabert of Ottawa, Kan. Sister-Mary Pitts of Ottawa, Kan. Grandchildren-Five Gt. Grandchildren-Seven Nieces & Nephews-Many She was preceded in Death by: Husband-Charles Dallas Fabert, Sr. Father-William Sidney McCafferty Mother-Luvicie Ellen (Miller) McCafferty Sister-Helen Stover Grandson-Victor Steward Graveside services will be held at Pleasant View Cemetery in Agricola, Kansas, 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 19, 2005, with Pastor Jon Boyd officiating. Mrs. Fabert will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary from 5 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday and 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday, where the family will meet with friends 7 to 8:00 Friday evening. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery in Agricola, Kansas. The family suggests memorials to Senior Center, Inc., c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
